stone-milled matcha
in medieval times, japan samurai warriors drank matcha before battle; funny enough, its ceremonial roots were introduced by japan buddhist monks eventually becoming an integral part in japanese culture; mainly being used in part of their chanoyu tea ceremonies.
the purpose of the japanese tea ceremonies was to create a bond between the host and guest and also gain inner peace.
“to pay homage to its history, our pure stone-milled matcha used in our cafe comes from the birthplace of matcha; Uji, Japan.”
we prepare it in our own ceremonial kind of way with a bamboo whisk and serve it over a belly of water, steamed milk or freshly squeezed lemonade.
