We’re glad you’re here!

Hey! We’re the Darpinians, proud new owners of this gem of a coffee shop. Aaron and I met in February of 2007, at a birthday party and started talking about food and cooking. A few days later was Valentine’s Day, and our first date-which was cooking dinner together. Since then, we’ve been doing what we love most: Bringing people together over good meals, coffee dates, and simple acts of hospitality. Aaron has been a farmer for his family business, and I founded and directed Garden Joy, Ripon’s educational community garden. We’ve homeschooled our kids, Maxine (14) and Harvey (13), through Gateway Academy in Escalon. We always talked about having a little place together where we could welcome friends, loved ones, and our community to share good food and drinks, in a warm environment, but thought maybe we’d do so in our retirement. We had no idea that on my 41st birthday, we’d find out that the sweet coffee shop just down the country road from us was for sale. Two days later, I knew we had to ask about it, and within weeks, the founders, Kristie and Alexus, chose us to carry on their legacy. We are honored not only to carry it on, but that our community chooses us every day. You guys show up for moments big and small, and we hope to make you feel like family with our hospitality.
